StreamSync TV Media Hub

A standalone TV media browser that brings user-added video sites into a remote-friendly catalog with cross-site discovery and resumable playback.

My role

Implemented standalone TV workflow improvements, local catalog extraction and indexing, cross-site navigation and playback integration.

The problem

Video sites designed for desktop browsers are awkward to navigate with a TV remote, and viewing progress and saved content are fragmented across sites.

The approach

Built a Kotlin TV app that extracts site catalogs locally, supplements weak results with generic and rendered-page fallbacks, indexes discovered videos in Room and presents cross-site browsing and playback through a television-oriented interface.

What it enables

Enables one on-device place to discover videos, revisit favorites and resume viewing across user-added sites. The current TV app no longer depends on the earlier relay, schema, AI or licensing backend.

The work,
and its boundaries.

Unified discovery

Continue Watching, New Across Sites, Trending, Favorites and user-added site rows connect local history and indexed catalog results to playback.

Resilient catalogs

Site-specific parsing is supplemented by generic extraction and rendered DOM loading when static pages do not expose enough results.

TV playback

Media3 handles HLS, DASH and progressive sources with site-cookie/custom-header support and playback-state callbacks.

Architecture and scope

Catalog fetching and extraction feed a local Room index; the remote-friendly UI opens a separate playback layer. Historical web, billing and relay packages remain in the repository but are not current TV-app dependencies; broad site compatibility and production release were not independently verified.
