Legal Engagement Operations

Helping legal teams move signed engagements into the right next step, even when documents are completed outside the usual process.

My role

extended signature recovery and workflow reliability within a Bob.Pro legal-operations application.

The problem

An engagement signed outside the application's normal flow can leave staff reconciling records manually or risk repeating a payment request.

The approach

Extended the engagement workflow to verify external signatures, reconnect them to the right matter, and resume the existing payment process.

What it enables

Gives staff a recovery path for completed signatures, clear signing deadlines, and visible exceptions without making a secondary spreadsheet essential to the workflow.

The work,
and its boundaries.

Signature recovery

staff can identify an externally signed document, verify the intended signers, and attach it to the correct engagement.

Payment handoff

reconnects the completed engagement to its existing next step while checking whether that payment step has already been handled.

Clear deadlines

applies an explicit 30-day signing window across document request types so staff do not depend on hidden provider defaults.

Architecture

keeps the application's engagement record as the primary source of truth, with signature providers, payment workflows, and status sheets connected around it.

Exception handling

records incomplete handoffs and secondary sync failures so staff can see what needs attention rather than treating every dependency failure as a failed engagement.
